FAQs

Can I really just turn up?
As long as we're training that day, sure! One of our coaches will be there to greet you and let you know anything important, and if appropriate, get you involved in the training session.

How old do I need to be?

You need to be at least 14 years old to train and play with us.

What do I need to bring?
You'll need clothes appropriate for playing sports in. Remember you may be sliding on the ground! We also recommend sports cleats, like football boots.

Do I need my own equipment?

You're welcome to bring any equipment you have, but we will have shared gloves, bats and batting helmets to be used as necessary.

When do you train and play?

Usually, we train one night a week and train or play on one day at weekends. You can find out exactly when by contacting us through social media or the form above.

Where do you train and play?

During the warmer months, we train and play our home games at Marston Green Recreation Ground. You can see more here. During the winter months, we occasionally hold indoor training sessions. We'll let you know exactly when and where on our social media pages.

I've never played before. Does that matter?

Absolutely not! Whether you're already an all-star, or you've never even picked up a baseball before, you're welcome at Birmingham Baseball Club.

Does it cost much to play?

Your first three sessions are free, but like almost every amateur sports team, we do charge an annual subscription fee to train and play. We'll make you aware of any fees required well ahead of time. Additionally, there may be a small fee for indoor training sessions.
